Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all". -Dale Carnegie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have years of experiencing treating children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient mental health settings. I have done pregnancy/parenting/adoption education and counseling, substance abuse/dependence counseling, and mental health counseling. I have worked with clients with a wide array of diagnosis or clients just needing help with life transitions or struggles.
The good social worker doesn't go on mechanically helping people out of a ditch. Pretty soon, she/he begins to find out what out to be done to get rid of the ditch". -Mary Richmond. In my work, I use an integrative approach with my clients as I realize every client's situation is different.
The therapeutic process is a collaborative process where we will work together to not just band-aid the issues, but actually work through them to achieve lasting change. I aim to achieve a safe and empathic environment to build a healthy working relationship with all my clients to achieve the best possible treatment/outcomes.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have many years of experience providing treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in various settings from schools to residential facilities and have been in full time private practice for 5 1/2 years. In that time I have been providing therapy to couples which has become a passion of mine.
In my work I use various methods of therapeutic interventions such as CBT, Gottman Method for couples, and play therapies. When working with children I utilize my training in Theraplay and play therapy techniques which support social emotional development by allowing children to express emotion, improve communication, and problem solve.
It is my goal to provide a safe empathetic environment in order to build a positive therapeutic relationship to ensure the best possible treatment to each and every client.
